Core Contemporary Art, established under the visionary leadership of Scarlette Lee, who is deeply entrenched in the realm of contemporary Malaysian art since her inception of Core Design Gallery in 2010, has transcended boundaries to emerge as a preeminent bastion of artistic expression. Under Lee’s astute guidance, the gallery has garnered acclaim, solidifying its position in representing the vanguard of Malaysian contemporary artists. Through the conduit of Core Design Gallery, Lee has nurtured a prolific cadre of burgeoning and mid-career artists, developing them onto the global stage. Evidencing its unwavering commitment to artistic excellence, the gallery consistently exhibits at art fairs spanning the breadth of the region, including notable destinations such as Taiwan, China, Thailand, and Korea. Moreover, the gallery’s reputation is further burnished through the curation of noteworthy exhibitions at the esteemed National Art Gallery, Malaysia showcasing the works of its roster of represented artists.

In the nascent year of 2023, Core Contemporary Art emerged as a subsidiary of Core Design Gallery, epitomizing a resolute drive to embrace the international art scene. With an unwavering sense of purpose, this distinctive endeavor seeks to captivate a global audience through exploratory and investigative curatorial projects. The inaugural venture took the form of a captivating solo exhibition featuring a mid-career contemporary Malaysian artist at Art Solo Taipei, delving into the intricacies of the social and cultural transformations witnessed in this newfangled global milieu. At its core, Core Contemporary Art strives to collaborate with artists and curators hailing from diverse corners of the world, fostering a rich tapestry of profound dialogues through evocative curatorial ventures that provoke introspection and contemplation.
