Big Bird is about one of Husni’s school teachers who taught him English.  Possessing a knack for turning bored, disinterested students – Husni included – into lovers of the language through her entertaining, exciting teaching methods, the artist and his friends affectionately nicknamed her “Big Bird” after the eponymous character in the educational children’s television series, Sesame Street.  The artwork displays a refreshing simplicity and honesty with the flat layer of blue juxtaposed to the playful brushstrokes of “Big Bird” wearing the skull bone and beak of a bird.
