This symbolic piece is a clear illustration where futuristic elements & ideals marry harmoniously with our traditions & cultural elements.
Measuring a totality of 6 ft X 11 ft, this art piece construes the present-day ideals of our ‘close to heart’ 1Malaysia notion which is made up of 3 collaborative pieces. Each painting is representative of our harmonious multi-cultural society, which is truly unique in Malaysia.

With mastery skills of airbrushing and acrylic on canvas, our very own ‘Desperate Housewives’ comes to life in great detail and perfect harmony above all what-may-be social and cultural differences. In the first painting, Raja Lope portrays a female robot carrying references to the holy white peacock, a revered creature in Indian legends. Henna drawings are clearly reflected on the arms and hands of the female robot. It is remarkable that one can essentially sense the spirituality come alive amidst the clouds. With this in retrospect, the protective element within the surreal silver finishing is carried forward and reinforces the Indian cultural traditions and preferences.

The airbrush effects are clearly accentuated in this second painting as the female robot comes alive with a menacing look, wearing a traditional Minangkabau head-dress submerged in water. Whilst the menace is apparent, it is softened further with the innocent pose it carries. The earthen hues infused in the detailed batik designs of the sarong reflect our intricate Malay culture and traditions. Minangkabau is an ethnic group within the Malay community, hailing from Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia.

Representing the Malaysian Chinese culture, the fiery dragon lady is depicted here in the third painting, leaves one to marvel at the sensuality and intensity of the lady. The gold elements and mythical dragon are woven in harmonious detail. By scrutinizing further, the background epitomizes the Chinese traditional symbol of marriage, proudly proclaiming the importance and foundation of family within the Chinese community.
The three female robots, portrayed with alien-like tentacles that are inspired by influences from the renowned H R Giger, are swapping stories and life experiences above all differences. A true reflection of our unique & harmonious society!
